AutoShack Canada Warranty Policy

Coverage At a Glance

Applies to eligible consumer purchases made online or in a retail store.

Policy version: 2026-09-30. The version made available before purchase applies to that order.

·    AutoShack Standard 6 month manufacturer warranty: Eligible parts are covered for defects in material or workmanship for six months. Online coverage starts on delivery; retail coverage starts on the receipt date.

·    AutoShack Extended Warranty: The extended warranty costs extra and provides one replacement for an eligible defective or worn-out product under its terms. If a qualifying replacement is unavailable, including because the product is discontinued or no longer carried, the remedy under the plan is a refund of the plan price plus applicable tax, not the part price.

·    Unused or incorrectly ordered parts: Visit our Returns page for the return policy and instructions. For a suspected defect, follow the warranty claim process below.

·    Parts only: Labour, installation and related costs are excluded unless applicable law or a separate warranty requires otherwise.

·    Your rights: This policy does not reduce mandatory legal rights or any longer product, manufacturer or emissions warranty.

Warranty Exclusions and Reimbursement Limits

The standard warranty and extended warranty provide parts-only contractual benefits. The following cost exclusions and refund limits apply to those benefits. They do not restrict costs, damages or other remedies that AutoShack must provide under applicable law, or greater coverage under a separate applicable warranty.

·    Improper use: Failures or damage caused or contributed to by misuse, abuse or use contrary to the product instructions are not covered.

·    Non-AutoShack purchases: The standard warranty covers eligible purchases made directly from AutoShack, including AutoShack-operated marketplace storefronts. Products purchased from other sellers are excluded from this voluntary coverage. This does not exclude any legal claim available against AutoShack as manufacturer or any right held by a subsequent purchaser under applicable law.

·    Incorrect installation: Failures or damage caused or contributed to by incorrect installation, removal or reinstallation are not covered.

·    Incorrect application: Failures or damage caused or contributed to by installing a part on an incorrect vehicle application or in an incorrect position are not covered.

·    Labour and installation costs: AutoShack does not reimburse labour, diagnosis, inspection, removal, installation, reinstallation, mileage or travel expenses.

·    Towing and rental vehicles: AutoShack does not reimburse towing, roadside assistance, rental-car or other substitute-transportation expenses.

·    Other additional costs: AutoShack does not reimburse lost wages, lost income, downtime, loss of use, damage to other parts or property, or other incidental or consequential costs.

·    Maximum part refund: A part refund under the standard warranty is limited to the original price actually paid for the covered part, plus applicable tax. Only the qualifying component is covered unless the item is identified as a multi-component part. A plan-fee refund under the extended warranty is limited to the price paid for that plan plus applicable tax. These limits do not cap any greater remedy required by law.

AutoShack provides the shipping expressly included in this policy. The exclusions and limits above do not override mandatory legal rights, legally recoverable costs or damages, or a separate applicable product, manufacturer or emissions warranty.

AutoShack Standard 6 Month Manufacturer Warranty

Who is Covered

·    The standard warranty covers the original retail purchaser of an eligible part bought directly from AutoShack or an AutoShack-operated marketplace storefront. The product page, packaging or sales document must identify the part as covered.

·    Keep your proof of purchase.

·    The standard warranty is not transferable. This restriction does not limit rights that applicable law gives a subsequent purchaser or other owner.

·    The warranty applies to personal, family and household use. Resale, fleet, delivery, rideshare, commercial, off-road, competition or racing use is covered only if the listing or separate written terms expressly allow it.

When Coverage Starts and Ends

·    Online orders: Six months from recorded delivery. If no reliable delivery record exists, use the date you can reasonably show that you received the order.

·    Retail purchases: Six months from the purchase date on your receipt.

·    Claim deadline: Open a claim under the standard warranty before its six-month period ends. The review may finish later. This deadline does not shorten any separate right or claim period under applicable law.

·    Inspection time: If AutoShack takes possession of the part for an approved inspection, the standard warranty is extended by the number of calendar days AutoShack holds it. Any longer suspension or extension required by law also applies.

Any longer warranty on the product page, part, warranty card or certificate, or required by law, remains available under its own terms.

What is covered

·    Defects in the part’s materials or workmanship are covered when the part is the correct catalog application and is used under normal operating conditions.

·    Normal wear and reaching the end of a part’s service life are not manufacturing defects. Service life depends on the part, mileage, use, maintenance and operating conditions. Incorrect diagnosis, installation damage and failures caused by another vehicle condition are not covered defects unless the applicable category schedule says otherwise. The extended warranty separately covers qualifying normal wear.

What AutoShack Provides

·    Approved claims: AutoShack provides a replacement part. If a replacement is not reasonably available, AutoShack refunds the price paid for the covered part plus applicable tax, subject to any remedy required by law.

·    Benefit limit: The remedy is limited to the amount paid for the covered part unless applicable law or a separate warranty requires more.

·    Bundles and kits: Only the component that qualifies for warranty coverage is covered unless the item is identified in the product listing or invoice as a multi-component part. For example, certain AutoShack brake rotors are sold and identified as a covered rotor pair. Buying separate parts together does not make them one covered multi-component part.

·    Replacement coverage: A replacement under the standard warranty is covered for 90 days from delivery or the remainder of the original standard warranty period, whichever is longer. If that replacement also qualifies for coverage, AutoShack may refund instead of replacing it again, subject to any remedy required by law.

AutoShack Extended Warranty

One-time Replacement Coverage

·    The extended warranty is a paid service contract provided directly by AutoShack, separate from the standard warranty. It is available only for eligible parts and is not a third-party warranty.

·    You must actively select, separately accept and purchase the extended warranty in the same transaction as the eligible part. It must not be preselected and cannot be added after purchase.

·    It must appear as its own invoice or receipt line, identifying the part, plan price and plan version.

·    The extended warranty covers the original retail purchaser and the eligible part identified on the invoice. It is non-transferable and stays with the vehicle on which the part was first installed. These plan restrictions do not limit mandatory legal rights.

·    Keep your proof of purchase and plan line item.

Pair Purchases are Recommended

·    AutoShack recommends purchasing struts, complete struts and hub bearings in pairs for the same axle. Have both sides assessed and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s service recommendations.

·    Buying a pair is not a condition of either the standard warranty or extended-warranty eligibility. An individually purchased eligible part can receive either coverage, provided the extended warranty was purchased where applicable.

·    A recommendation to buy pairs does not entitle a claim to replacement of an unaffected part.

What the Extended Warranty Covers

·    Defects and normal wear: The extended warranty provides one replacement when an eligible covered part is defective or worn out after the standard warranty ends. Normal-wear coverage is included; no special invoice label is required.

·    Hassle-free claims: A mechanic’s diagnosis, diagnostic test results, measurements and proof of defect or wear are not required for an extended warranty claim. Purchase verification, part identification and the claim-processing steps below still apply.

·    The covered part must be defective or worn out and need replacement. Cosmetic changes or a preference for a new part do not qualify.

·    Chemicals, fluids, consumables and products excluded by the listing do not qualify for wear coverage.

How Long the Extended Warranty Lasts

The extended warranty starts the day after the standard warranty ends, unless the invoice or mandatory law provides an earlier start. There is no fixed calendar expiry under this plan; it continues only while you own the original vehicle and the covered part remains on that vehicle, until the earliest of these events:

·    AutoShack provides one approved replacement or the plan-fee refund described below.

·    You sell, transfer, lease out, abandon or otherwise stop owning the original vehicle.

·    The covered part is moved to another vehicle.

·    The vehicle is declared a total loss, dismantled, scrapped or used primarily for competition or racing.

·    The extended warranty is cancelled, including under any applicable legal cancellation right.

The extended warranty does not provide repeated replacements. After a plan replacement, the replacement receives the standard warranty stated on its replacement documentation. Mandatory legal rights remain available.

Another plan benefit requires a separately purchased new plan, where legally available.

What AutoShack Provides Under the Extended Warranty

·    AutoShack provides one replacement for an approved claim and pays standard shipping to an eligible address served by the original seller.

·    You pay for optional express shipping.

·    Unavailable or discontinued products: If AutoShack cannot provide a replacement for an otherwise qualifying extended-warranty claim because the product is discontinued, no longer manufactured, no longer carried by AutoShack, or otherwise unavailable, AutoShack refunds only the price paid for the extended warranty plus applicable tax. The original part price is not refunded under this plan rule. This rule applies after the standard warranty ends and does not replace any remedy independently required by law.

·    AutoShack will confirm replacement availability when reviewing the claim. A temporary stock shortage may be resolved by an agreed wait for replenishment. If a replacement cannot be supplied, the plan-fee refund above applies. The extended warranty ends when this refund is issued; AutoShack is not required under the plan to maintain inventory indefinitely.

·    For an approved replacement, the extended-warranty benefit limit remains the original price paid for the covered part. No cash payment for the part price is available under the unavailable-product rule.

Plan Purchase and Cancellation

·    Purchase timing: The extended warranty must be selected and purchased in the same transaction as the eligible part. It cannot be added after the part purchase is completed.

·    Cancellation: Except for the Quebec cancellation rights below or as otherwise required by applicable law, the extended warranty cannot be cancelled for a refund after purchase.

·    Refunds: The extended warranty is automatically cancelled and its full price refunded if AutoShack cancels the part order before shipment or approves return of the unused covered part. The plan-fee refund for an approved claim when a qualifying replacement is unavailable also remains available, as does any refund required by applicable law.

Plan Provider & Contract Terms

·    AutoShack is the warrantor and directly sells, provides and administers the extended warranty.  No third-party warranty provider administers this plan.

·    The AutoShack Warranty Claims Department administers claims through “Contact Us,” using live chat or the other contact options at the bottom of this page. The current mailing address is on the Contact Us page or your sales document.

·    The plan does not reduce the standard warranty, implied warranties or mandatory legal rights.

·    Any mandatory provincial or territorial requirements apply to the extended warranty and take priority over inconsistent terms in this policy.

·    The Quebec online-purchase provisions below form part of the extended warranty when applicable.

·    These extended-warranty terms, the applicable Quebec provisions and your invoice identify your plan coverage. Mandatory legal rights remain available.

·    Employees and installers cannot change it unless AutoShack issues the change in writing.

·    The version provided before purchase applies. An unenforceable provision is limited only as necessary; the rest continues.

Quebec Online Purchases

This section applies to online purchases governed by Quebec consumer protection law. It does not apply merely because a customer who completes a purchase entirely in person at an Ontario store lives in Quebec. An online purchase is not converted into an in-store purchase solely because it is collected at an Ontario store. Mandatory law determines the rights applicable to each transaction.

·    Legal warranties: Goods carry legal warranties, including normal use, reasonable durability and protection against hidden defects. These rights apply without buying the extended warranty and may continue after the standard warranty ends. The extended warranty adds only the benefits expressly stated in its terms.

·    Before the extended warranty is offered: AutoShack provides the prescribed notice about legal warranties in a form you can read, save and print, and informs you of the existence and six-month duration of the standard warranty. The prescribed notice is provided separately from this policy.

·    Quebec cancellation right: You may cancel the extended warranty without fees or penalties by sending AutoShack written notice within 10 days after entering into the plan contract. Cancellation takes effect when the notice is sent. AutoShack refunds the plan payment as soon as possible.

·    Calculating the deadline: The 10-day period begins the day after purchase. If its last day falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day. Any longer cancellation right available under applicable law is preserved.

·    Sending notice: Use a written contact option under “Contact Us,” or send written notice to AutoShack at the business address supplied with your purchase. Identify your order and extended warranty and keep a copy of the notice. No special cancellation form is required.

How to Make a Standard Warranty Claim

1. Before the standard warranty ends, select “Contact Us” and use live chat or the other contact options at the bottom of this page. AutoShack will direct you through its warranty claim process. Do not ship anything until you receive authorization and instructions. Statutory claims may have a different deadline.

2. Provide your order or marketplace order number, purchaser name and contact information, SKU and quantity. Include vehicle year, make, model, submodel, engine, drivetrain, relevant options and VIN when reasonably requested.

3. Describe the problem and when it first appeared. Include installation date, mileage at installation and claim, and clear photos of the complete part, part stamp, date code and identification markings.

4. Supply evidence reasonably needed for the product category. AutoShack may require a written diagnosis from a qualified mechanic where reasonably necessary to determine whether the part has a covered defect. Include the relevant findings, test results, measurements and installation details requested for the specific complaint. A statement that a part is “defective” without supporting findings is not sufficient by itself.

5. Keep the part and related components. Do not discard or return them without written instructions. If a return is requested, package the part properly and include the return authorization.

·    Parts still on the vehicle: Contact AutoShack before removal where reasonably possible. A mechanic’s written diagnosis, relevant on-vehicle tests, photos or video may support the initial review. AutoShack may still require removal and return for physical inspection before final approval, including for brake rotors and calipers.

·    Reasonable evidence: Requirements depend on the complaint. AutoShack requests evidence material to determining the cause and considers reasonable alternative evidence where a requested record is unavailable. Professional installation is not required merely to obtain coverage. Diagnostic and removal costs remain subject to the cost exclusions and mandatory legal rights stated in this policy.

·    AutoShack reviews claims within a reasonable time after receiving the material information and any requested part.

·    A claim may be denied if necessary evidence is missing, the part is unavailable for required inspection, or evidence shows an exclusion caused or contributed to the failure.

·    Missing information affects that claim; it does not automatically cancel unrelated or future coverage.

·    AutoShack will explain its decision and the material reason for a denial. You may provide further relevant information and request reconsideration.

Do not authorize labour, towing, rental, programming or other work expecting reimbursement unless AutoShack agrees in writing before the cost is incurred, or applicable law or a separate warranty requires payment.

Reasonable installation needed to discover a hidden defect does not automatically end warranty review. A suspected defect is assessed through the warranty claim process.

How to Make an Extended Warranty Claim

The AutoShack Extended Warranty uses a simpler claim process. No mechanic’s diagnosis, diagnostic measurements, test results or proof of defect or wear are required. The standard warranty’s diagnostic and pre-approval inspection requirements, including those for brake rotors and calipers, do not apply to extended warranty claims.

1. Select “Contact Us” and use live chat or the other contact options at the bottom of this page. AutoShack will guide you through the extended warranty claim process.

2. Provide your order number, purchaser name and contact information, and the invoice or receipt showing the extended warranty purchase.

3. Identify the covered part and vehicle, confirm that you still own the original vehicle, and briefly describe the issue or wear requiring replacement.

4. Follow AutoShack’s processing instructions. Keep the part and return it if instructed; do not ship or discard it before receiving instructions. Any requested part return is not a requirement to obtain a mechanic’s diagnosis or submit diagnostic proof.

5. AutoShack verifies plan eligibility and processes the approved replacement or applicable plan-fee refund. AutoShack will explain any denial and you may request reconsideration.

What Both Warranties Exclude

The exclusions below apply to both warranties. Normal wear remains covered for eligible parts under the AutoShack Extended Warranty. These exclusions do not impose the standard warranty’s diagnostic-proof requirements on extended warranty claims.

Labour & Related Costs

Both warranties provide parts-only benefits. Except when applicable law or a separate warranty requires otherwise, AutoShack does not pay for diagnosis, inspection, labour, removal, installation, reinstallation, alignment, balancing, programming, coding, calibration, refrigerant, coolant, oil, other fluids, filters, shop supplies, hardware not included with the part, towing, mileage, travel, fuel, roadside service, vehicle transport, rental vehicles, public transit, lodging, storage, lost wages, lost revenue, lost profits, downtime, loss of use, cargo loss, damage to another part or damage to the vehicle. These incidental, special, indirect or consequential costs remain the customer's responsibility to the extent permitted by law.

Both warranties exclude failures, conditions or damage caused or contributed to by:

·    Routine maintenance services and consumable supplies. Normal wear is excluded from the standard warranty but is covered for eligible parts under the AutoShack Extended Warranty.

·    The wrong vehicle, wrong application, inaccurate vehicle information, ignored fitment notes, an incorrect position or option, or installation after an obvious mismatch was or reasonably should have been noticed.

·    Incorrect diagnosis, improper installation or removal, failure to follow current vehicle-manufacturer service procedures, or use of incorrect tools, torque, fasteners, fluids, wiring, programming, calibration, adjustment, break-in or bedding procedures.

·    A problem in another vehicle component or system, including a condition that caused the original part to fail and was not corrected.

·    Abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, collision, road hazard, impact, fire, theft, vandalism, flood, corrosion, contamination, overheating, freezing, overloading, lack of maintenance or continued vehicle operation after a warning condition.

·    Modification of the part or vehicle, use outside the product listing, or fleet, delivery, rideshare, commercial, off-road, competition or racing use unless expressly approved in writing for that product.

·    A removed, altered or unreadable part number, serial number, date code, label or identification stamp when that information is reasonably needed to verify the claim.

A cosmetic condition that does not affect safe operation or intended function is not covered unless the category schedule states otherwise. A claim already paid by another warranty, insurance policy, recall, settlement or service contract is excluded, except for any amount that remains legally payable.

Shipping damage, missing items, incorrect shipments and customer-selected wrong parts are addressed on our Returns page. For a suspected defect in the part itself, follow the warranty claim process above.

Installation & Diagnosis

·    Professional installation by a qualified automotive technician is strongly recommended. It is not, by itself, a warranty condition, and you do not have to use a particular installer.

·    Damage or failure caused or contributed to by incorrect diagnosis, installation, removal, service, adjustment, programming, calibration or an uncorrected vehicle problem is excluded.

An individual shock or strut still receives the standard warranty, as stated in its category schedule.

Legal Rights & Policy Terms

·    The standard warranty is a voluntary six-month warranty against covered defects. It is not a promise of unlimited part life and does not cover ordinary wear. Separate legal rights, where applicable, depend on the facts, including the type of part, price, mileage, use, maintenance and cause of failure; they are not automatically extinguished at six months.

·    The standard warranty and extended warranty do not provide reimbursement for incidental or consequential costs. This limits only their contractual benefits; it does not exclude or limit liability, costs, damages or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

·    You may have additional rights under applicable Canadian provincial or territorial law. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits a mandatory right or remedy.

·    AutoShack's claim decision is not final or binding and does not prevent a customer from exercising another legal right or remedy. AutoShack does not require a customer to use an informal dispute settlement process before pursuing another available remedy.

·    The warrantor for the standard warranty is AutoShack, operated in Canada by Kingdom Auto Parts DBA AutoShack.

·    Claims are administered by the AutoShack Warranty Claims Department through “Contact Us,” using live chat or the other contact options at the bottom of this page. The current mailing address is on the Contact Us page or your sales document.

·    The standard warranty sections and category schedules in this document, together with the product information and any longer applicable warranty card or certificate supplied with the product, state the Canadian warranty policy. No employee, installer or other person may change this policy unless AutoShack issues the change in writing. This does not displace any representation or obligation binding on AutoShack under applicable law.

·    The version made available before the order was placed applies to that order. A later website change does not reduce coverage for an earlier purchase. Installing or using the part after purchase does not create new warranty terms or replace the version that applied when the sale was completed.

·    If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue to apply. Headings are for convenience and do not change the meaning of the terms.

·    The optional paid plan is a separate service contract. It must be presented and actively accepted separately and shown as a separate invoice or receipt line. It does not replace or reduce the standard warranty or mandatory legal rights.

Category Specific Warranty Schedules

Each schedule describes standard warranty defect coverage and category-specific exclusions. The exclusions apply to both warranties, except that normal-wear exclusions do not apply to eligible wear claims under the AutoShack Extended Warranty. Diagnostic evidence and pre-approval physical inspection requirements in these schedules apply only to standard warranty claims. Follow the separate extended warranty claim process above for extended coverage.

Schedule A - Chemicals and Fluids

Applies to: Brake cleaner, brake fluid and other chemicals or fluids sold by AutoShack.

Covered: A sealed-container defect, incorrect label or contents, leakage caused by a container manufacturing defect, or another defect in material or workmanship that existed when delivered.

Not covered:

·    Normal use or depletion; an opened, mixed, contaminated, frozen, overheated or incorrectly stored product; use after an applicable shelf-life date; use in the wrong system; mixing incompatible products;

·    or failure to follow the vehicle manufacturer instructions, product label or safety data sheet.

Professional installation and claim evidence:

·    Professional service is strongly recommended when the procedure involves pressurized, hydraulic, braking, refrigerant or hazardous systems.

·    Use only the exact specification required by the vehicle manufacturer.

·    AutoShack may reasonably request photos of the container, lot or date code, label, leakage or contents, and evidence that the product was stored and used as directed.

Schedule B - Brake Rotors

Applies to: Brake rotors, including ShadowGuard, SilverShield Pro, ArmorStop, TurboGuard, NightGuard and BlackShield products.

Covered: A defect in casting, machining, structural integrity or a factory-applied coating that affects the rotor before normal service wear.

Not covered:

·    Normal friction-surface coating removal; surface rust or cosmetic colour change that does not affect safe operation; normal wear to discard thickness; brake noise, dust, smell or vibration by itself;

·    scoring, hot spots, heat checking, bluing, cracking from overheating or abuse;

·    pulsation, runout or thickness variation caused by a dirty or rusted hub, excessive hub runout, uneven or excessive lug torque, a seized caliper, worn bearing or suspension, incorrect pads or hardware, failure to bed the brakes, overloading, competition or racing.

Professional installation and claim evidence:

·    Professional installation is strongly recommended.

·    Service brakes by axle, clean the hub face, check hub and rotor runout, inspect calipers and hoses, use compatible pads and hardware, torque wheel fasteners evenly to specification, and complete the required bedding procedure.

·    AutoShack may reasonably request rotor thickness and runout measurements, hub runout, pad condition, installation details and photos of both rotor faces.

Required AutoShack inspection before approval

·    All brake-rotor claims under the standard warranty require review by an AutoShack employee and physical inspection of the claimed rotor before approval of a warranty replacement or refund, subject to mandatory legal rights.

·    Contact AutoShack first for the inspection location or return instructions.

·    A customer’s or installer’s description of “warped rotors” alone is not sufficient to approve a claim.

Why pulsation needs diagnosis

·    Pedal pulsation, steering-wheel shake or vibration while braking describes a symptom, not its cause. A rotor may rotate unevenly on the hub (lateral runout), vary in thickness around its surface (disc thickness variation), or have uneven pad deposits. These conditions can feel like a “warped rotor.” The time since installation alone neither proves nor rules out a manufacturing defect.

Common causes to check

·    Mounting and wheel installation: Rust or debris between the rotor and hub, excessive hub runout, bearing play, or uneven or excessive wheel-fastener torque can prevent the rotor from running true. The assembled rotor must be measured against the correct vehicle specification.

·    Pads and heat: Incorrect bedding, uneven pad deposits or a dragging brake can cause uneven friction, wear and heat. Inspect pad condition, caliper operation and the source of overheating. Heat marks alone do not identify who or what caused the problem.

·    Vehicle condition: Worn hubs, bearings or suspension components can contribute to vibration. Replacing a rotor without correcting the underlying cause may leave the complaint unresolved.

Measurements and evidence for review

Provide the normal claim information, installation and symptom dates, mileage, affected wheel position, and clear photos of both rotor faces, identification marks and pads. Keep the rotor and relevant parts available. AutoShack may request these measurements where reasonably needed to determine the cause:

·    Installed rotor runout measured with a dial indicator, using the vehicle manufacturer’s mounting and clamping procedure. Record actual readings, units and the applicable service limit.

·    Rotor thickness measured with a brake micrometer at the specified positions around the disc; record thickness variation and minimum thickness against the applicable limits. A visual check alone cannot establish these measurements.

·    Hub runout, hub-face condition and bearing play where rotor runout is excessive; wheel-fastener torque, pad condition, caliper movement and bedding details where relevant.

Vehicle measurements should be performed by a qualified technician using the correct service procedures. AutoShack staff review the findings and inspect the part; a counter inspection of a removed rotor cannot establish the condition of the vehicle’s hub.

Do not machine, alter or discard the claimed rotor before AutoShack’s review, unless immediate safety needs require action; contact AutoShack and preserve available evidence.

Approval is based on evidence of a covered material or workmanship defect. Pulsation alone does not qualify.

A claim is not automatically denied because symptoms appeared soon after installation. Installation-related or vehicle-related causes are assessed under the stated exclusions, and AutoShack explains any denial.

Schedule C - Brake Pads

Applies to: Ceramic brake pads and performance ceramic brake pads.

Covered: A defect in the backing plate, friction-material bond, shim or another component of the pad caused by material or workmanship.

Not covered:

·    Normal friction wear; noise, dust, smell, glazing, fade, taper or uneven wear; cracked friction material caused by overheating; grease or fluid contamination; damaged rotors; seized calipers; missing or reused hardware;

·    wrong application; or failure to bed the pads.

Professional installation and claim evidence:

·    Professional installation is strongly recommended.

·    Install a complete axle set, inspect or replace rotors as needed, service caliper slides and hardware, correct leaks and binding, and follow the bedding procedure.

·    AutoShack may reasonably request photos of all pads from the axle, remaining friction thickness, rotor and caliper condition, and installation details.

Schedule D - Brake Calipers

Applies to: Silver, red and black brake calipers.

Covered: A defect in the caliper casting, piston, seal, slide mechanism, bracket or an included parking-brake motor caused by material or workmanship.

Not covered: Cosmetic heat discolouration, finish chips from tools or road debris, chemical staining, corrosion after installation, contamination, wrong or mixed brake fluid, use of a fluid not specified for the vehicle, stripped or cross-threaded bleeder or banjo threads caused by incorrect torque, damaged hoses or lines, poor bleeding, or a fault in the master cylinder, booster, ABS system, wiring or vehicle controls.

Professional installation and claim evidence:

·    Professional installation is strongly recommended.

·    Confirm the exact caliper and connector, inspect hoses and lines, use only the specified fluid, use new sealing washers and required hardware, torque fittings correctly, bleed the system fully, and verify safe braking before driving.

·    AutoShack may reasonably request photos of the caliper and leak location, thread condition, fluid condition, scan codes for electronic calipers and technician test results.

Required AutoShack inspection before approval

·    All brake-caliper claims under the standard warranty require review by an AutoShack employee and physical inspection of the claimed caliper before approval of a warranty replacement or refund, subject to mandatory legal rights. This includes complaints arising during installation or immediately afterward.

·    Contact AutoShack for the inspection location or return instructions before shipping the part.

A new caliper can have a genuine defect. However, a soft pedal, drag, pulling, leakage or a piston that will not retract can also result from installation or another brake-system fault. The cause must be established before the caliper is classified as defective.

Common installation complaints and checks

·    Soft pedal or difficulty bleeding: Confirm the correct left or right caliper and the correct bleeder orientation so air can escape. Check for trapped air, leaks and completion of the vehicle-specific bleeding procedure, including ABS bleeding where required. A master-cylinder or other hydraulic fault can also cause a poor pedal.

·    Dragging brake or a wheel that will not release: Inspect slide pins, pad fit, mounting hardware and parking-brake operation. A restricted brake hose or other trapped hydraulic pressure can keep a sound caliper applied. A qualified technician should distinguish hydraulic pressure retention from mechanical binding using the vehicle’s diagnostic procedure.

·    Leakage during installation: Identify the exact source: hose connection, banjo fitting, bleeder, piston seal or casting. Verify correct sealing washers and hardware, clean undamaged sealing faces, thread condition and specified tightening torque. Do not keep tightening a leaking fitting or use sealant as a substitute for the correct repair. A connection leak alone does not prove a defective caliper casting or seal.

·    Piston will not retract or parking-brake fault: Confirm the caliper design and required retraction procedure. Check parking-brake release, cable adjustment, electronic service mode and initialization where applicable. Do not force the piston or operate an unsupported caliper contrary to the vehicle or part instructions.

·    Pulling, noise or uneven wear: Check both sides of the axle, pad and rotor condition, hardware placement, slide operation, hose condition and brake-fluid specification or contamination. Document whether the original symptom remained after the caliper was fitted.

Evidence for review

·    Provide the normal claim information, affected wheel position, installation and symptom dates, mileage, photos of the installed orientation and identification marks, and clear photos or technician findings identifying the fault.

·    For leakage, identify the precise leak point.

·    For drag or poor pedal, provide relevant hydraulic and mechanical findings.

·    For an electronic parking brake, provide relevant codes and service-mode or initialization results.

·    AutoShack requests only evidence material to the complaint.

·    Keep the caliper, supplied hardware and relevant replaced components available. Do not dismantle the caliper’s internal mechanism, modify it or discard it before receiving review instructions.

·    If urgent work is required for safety, contact AutoShack and preserve the available evidence.

·    An obvious installation issue does not automatically rule out a separate manufacturing defect.

Brake safety and claim decisions

·    Do not drive with a fluid leak, reduced braking, an abnormally soft pedal, a locked wheel or severe brake overheating. Arrange qualified service and safe transport as needed.

·    AutoShack’s warranty inspection is not a certification that the vehicle is safe to drive. Diagnostic and installation work must use the correct tools and vehicle-specific procedures.

·    AutoShack approves a claim when the evidence supports a covered material or workmanship defect.

·    A failure caused or contributed to by improper installation, contaminated fluid, damaged connections or another vehicle fault is assessed under the exclusions.

·    AutoShack gives the material reason for any denial, and the customer may submit further relevant evidence for reconsideration. The existing parts-only cost limits and mandatory legal rights continue to apply.

Schedule E - A/C Condensers

Applies to: Air-conditioning condensers.

Covered: A leak or structural defect caused by material or workmanship in the condenser.

Not covered:

·    Bent fins that do not cause a leak; impact or road-debris damage; installation damage; corrosion or electrolysis; contamination; system overpressure; wrong refrigerant or oil; leak-stop or sealant contamination;

·    unresolved compressor failure; or failure to replace seals, O-rings, receiver-drier, desiccant components or other items required by the vehicle manufacturer.

Professional installation and claim evidence:

·    Professional installation by a qualified A/C technician is strongly recommended.

·    Refrigerant must be lawfully recovered, the system inspected and flushed where required, specified seals and oil used, and the system evacuated, leak-tested and charged to the correct amount.

·    AutoShack may reasonably request a leak-test result identifying the condenser leak, photos, refrigerant and oil specifications, and the service invoice.

Schedule F - Catalytic Converters and Exhaust Manifold Converters

Applies to: Catalytic converters and exhaust-manifold converters.

Covered: A defect in material or workmanship to the extent covered by this standard warranty. Any separate manufacturer, emissions, construction, label, warranty-card or certificate coverage also applies and is not shortened by this policy.

Special emissions warranty:

·    When a converter is sold for an application subject to a longer applicable emissions or manufacturer warranty, that warranty and applicable law continue to apply.

·    The required warranty card and installation records must be completed and kept.

Important product notice:

·    A converter is not guaranteed to turn off a check-engine light when another engine, fuel, ignition, sensor, wiring or exhaust problem remains.

·    Diagnosis and repair of the underlying cause are not included in the part price or warranty.

Not covered:

·    Wrong or unapproved application;

·    unresolved misfire, rich fuel mixture, oil or coolant burning, exhaust leak, damaged oxygen sensor, engine-control fault, contamination, impact, thermal shock, overheating, tampering, removed emissions equipment, modified engine or exhaust, or failure caused by an underlying vehicle condition.
